Service Description
Build trust, confidence, and real-world skills with your horse. Whether you are brand new to obstacles, have been struggling with them, or already love the challenge, Horsemanship Over Obstacles will help you and your horse develop greater confidence, communication, and trust using our Four Pillars of Horsemanship: Speed, Direction, Body, and Emotional Control. This is our flagship obstacle clinic and is designed for riders and handlers of all levels, age 13 and up. Over two days, you will learn how to influence the Four Pillars and apply them to the four categories of obstacles: On, Over, Under, Through; Get Past Scary; Interaction; and Desensitization. We begin on the ground with the foundational skills that make obstacle work safer, clearer, and more effective. From there, you will learn how to help your horse when they feel uncertain or afraid, and how to build confidence step by step for both you and your horse. This clinic is suitable for both in-hand and in-saddle participation, so you do not need to ride to participate and benefit. Young horses are welcome, and it is not unusual to see yearlings used as demo horses. All disciplines are welcome, and well-behaved stallions are welcome too. What makes this clinic especially powerful is that it is never one-size-fits-all. We tailor the exercises and obstacles to the unique needs of each horse and rider combination, so you will be supported at the level that is right for you. Horsemanship Over Obstacles is also the prerequisite for attending Obstacles Unleashed. Many participants return again and again, sharing that this clinic was a turning point in their horsemanship journey. To ensure every participant receives plenty of 1:1 instruction and support, the clinic is limited to just 10 participants. Cancellation Policy
A nominal deposit is required to hold your place in an event. This deposit is non-refundable but is transferable under certain conditions. See details below. Requests to reschedule, change events, or move your deposit to any other service we offer, can be accommodated up to 2 weeks prior to the event. You can transfer your booking to another individual at any time, but must notify us immediately. We would greatly appreciate at least 48 hours notice so we can properly prepare the new participant. We pride ourselves on providing extraordinary customer service to everyone that enters our gates. To that aim, we keep our clinics number small to ensure we get to know you and can provide you with plenty of 1:1 support. We also keep our fees as low as we possibly can to make our events more accessible. Requests to make changes to reservation within 2 weeks of the event are not transferable to another service unless we have an active waitlist for that event, and we are able to fill your spot. If you discover that you are unable to attend an event within the 2 week window, please reach out to us as soon as possible. We will do everything we can to help you fill your spot, but make no guarantees. This policy is one of the most generous in the industry and we appreciate your understanding. Frequent abuse of this policy will result in deposit forfeit. While we never want to have to do this, we do reserve the right to block repeat offenders as well.
